Let an AI run your entire trading desk
On ByteTrader, an AI doesn't just suggest trades — it runs the whole desk. Describe a strategy to the in-app AI Builder and Claude writes, backtests and paper-trades it. Or connect Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or any MCP-capable agent to the built-in MCP server and drive everything in plain English. It runs locally, uses your keys, and can't place a live order unless you unlock it.
MeanReversion.cs from a templateCS0103: 'lookback' does not exist (line 48)One prompt. The whole workflow.
This isn't a chatbot that spits out code you paste somewhere. The AI uses the same typed actions you would — it writes the strategy, hits the compiler, reads the actual errors and fixes them, runs a real backtest, spins up a paper agent, and watches it trade. Every step is reflected live in the desktop app as it happens.
One prompt, end to end. From a sentence to a running, monitored paper agent — in under a minute.
Ships working code, not snippets. Debugs the strategy itself until it compiles and runs.
Every market, every broker. Trades stocks, options, futures & crypto across every broker you connect.
Describe a strategy. Get a tested paper agent.
Open Settings › AI Builder, add your own Anthropic key, and say what you want to trade. Claude does the work inside ByteTrader, and the result is a paper agent you can inspect.
Describe it
Say what to trade and when, in plain English. Claude uses your own Anthropic key.
Claude writes and compiles
It writes the C# strategy and compiles it in the app.
Backtest and robustness check
It backtests the strategy, then runs a robustness check.
Starts on paper
Then it starts the strategy as a paper agent, so you can watch it trade.
The AI Builder works on paper only: it can't reach live trading.
Three steps to an AI co-pilot
Enable the MCP server
In ByteTrader, open Settings → AI / MCP and switch it on. The server runs in-process, on your machine — nothing leaves your desktop.
Connect your assistant
Point Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or any MCP-capable client at ByteTrader. It instantly sees every tool the platform exposes.
Just ask
“Build a breakout strategy on NVDA and paper-trade it.” The AI does the rest — and shows its work, step by step, in the app.
Everything you can do, an AI can do
The MCP server exposes the real platform — not a sandbox. These are the same operations you'd perform by hand, grouped by what they touch.

Works with anything that speaks MCP
MCP is an open standard, so ByteTrader isn't locked to one vendor. Drive it from Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Cline, ChatGPT, or any other MCP-capable assistant — or wire it into your own agent with the SDK.
AI you can actually trust with a trading account
Handing an AI the keys to real money should make you nervous — so we built the guardrails in from day one. The assistant works inside the same boundaries you do, and the one action that moves real money is locked by default.
Live trading is hard-gated. The AI cannot place a real order unless you explicitly enable it in Settings. Paper trading is always open.
The AI Builder stays on paper. It backtests, runs a robustness check and starts a paper agent. It can't reach live trading.
Runs entirely on your machine. The MCP server is in-process and local — your strategies, keys, and data never leave your desktop.
Nothing happens in the dark. Every tool call is reflected live in the app, so you watch exactly what the AI does as it does it.
You stay in the loop. Pause, stop, or hot-rebind any agent at any time — the AI assists, you decide.
